Wastewater Mixers, Chopper Pumps, Inline Waste Grinders

As a manufacturer of wastewater pump stations and through our commitment to servicing the equipment that we sell, Engineered Pump understands that many pump stations and wastewater installations have difficult conditions and/or extreme solids that will require specialized equipment to move the fluid/solids through. As a result, we specify and carry submersible pump station mixers, submersible grinding mixers, submersible chopper pumps, and inline waste grinders/comminutors.

We work with Landia Inc. to design and supply the highest quality mixers, mixing aerators, mix/grind/aeration, and chopper pumps. The Landia product is fully Danish made. They have a stocking warehouse in the United States for common products.

We have partnered with Franklin Miller to look at reducing solids and foreign materials prior to arriving and being dealt with at the pump station. The product is fully USA manufactured. Franklin Miller offers a full line of inline and channel grinders configured to meet any application requirement.

Submersible Mixers and Mixer Aerators (Propeller Style)

Landia POD-I is a compact mixer that is typically used for mixing liquids with a low dry matter content and in smaller tanks. The POD-I can be operated at liquid levels below 1 m. The propeller speed is 900, 1200 or 1800 rpm. If Landia POD-I is to be used for aggressive liquids, it is also available in an “all stainless steel” construction. Our most common application is within sanitary pump stations. The compact rugged design encourages mixing and is difficult to plug. It can be stationary or mounted on a lift out rail assembly with directional control.

Landia PODB-I is a compact self-priming propeller mixer / aerator. It works by the rapidly rotating propeller automatically sucking the air, and thus the oxygen, down through a hose and then being released into the wastewater as bubbles. The most obvious applications for Landia PODB-I are in connection with aeration of wastewater or sludge. It can also be for combined mixing and aeration. The aerator is also used to remove odors from wastewater, and to keep the wastewater fresh, for additional aeration at peak loads and when cleaning equalization tanks. If needed, we offer to supply Landia PODB-I made of stainless steel. Our most common installation is for holding tanks (store and forward systems) and flow equalization/trash traps to put solids back into suspension and re-energize (help maintain aerobic values) pre movement into the treatment plant.

Landia POPL-I is a low-speed mixer or generator flow maker. Its primary use is for mixing and creating flow in large volumes of water at an exceptionally low energy consumption. With the adjustable propeller blades, the energy consumption can be adjusted by changing the angle of the propeller blades. The propeller blades on a POPL-I flow maker are stainless steel. Experience shows that the propeller blades last forever, and you therefore get a lifetime warranty on propeller blades on your POPL-I mixer. If your wastewater is of an aggressive nature, POPL-I can be supplied in acidproof stainless steel. We primarily use these in digesters, pre-aeration, and post aeration chambers to maintain consistent suspension level where larger mixing flows are required.

Landia PODTR-1

Landia PODTR-1 The PODTR-I is a flexible and efficient mixer that is mounted through the side of the tank wall. The three-blade propeller and the low propeller speed makes it well-suited for mixing liquids with a high viscosity, such as dewatered or digested sludge. The optimal cooling function of the motor makes it an ideal choice for liquids with elevated temperatures. These are Sludge tanks, Mixing system for digestion tanks, and Hot liquids

Submersible Chopper Pumps

The model DG-I submersible chopper pump is particularly suitable for heavy-duty and industrial solids. This heavy-duty chopper pump is designed with an open impeller, which is the ideal design for pumping feedstocks with high dry matter content and high viscosity. The pump’s unique chopping system, or knife system, proves extremely effective in situations, where large particles and contaminants often create problems for other types of pumps. We most commonly supply these for troubled pump stations with a history of continual plugging and systems that have inconstant and higher amounts of solids. They can reduce solids to a manageable level for movement through the piping.

Submersible Chopper Pumps

Submersible Mixing Chopper Pump, Inline Dry Mix Chopper Pump and Chopper Aerator Systems.

There can be great benefit to chop mixing and chop/mix/aeration. Landia excels in keeping solids in suspension, adding oxygen to aid in the process of breaking down sewage and improving odor control, and mixing the tank while performing all those functions to improve efficiency in the operation.

Landia MPTK150 is widely used to reduce solids and beak up fats Landia has an inline centrifugal grinder c/w aeration to break down and aid in the processing of FOG (Fats Oils Grease) systems in sewage treatment plant. It improves the fluid consistency and mixes the tank to improve efficiency and speeds up the digestion process. This series is available in submersible, non-submersible enclosures and can be fully rated for explosion proof areas.

Landia DG-I ERADIGATOR® commonly used in areas where solids accumulate and settle forming a sludge blanket and scum blanket. Often it is not possible to allow full flow through in a system. On the front end of large collection treatment plants there is a trash trap/flow equalization chamber. A mixing submersible chopper keeps the solids from settling out and improves the consistency of product sent to the treatment plant. In established older cities, especially with older infrastructure, it is not possible to allow full flow during the day and peak times. Often large holding tanks store during the day for release in off peak hours. A submersible mixing chopper keeps the solids suspended and can add in the aeration of the product to mitigate odor issues. These are often used in conjunction with the DG-I Submersible chopper pump as the media can become problematic with extended storage.

Landia DG-I ERADIGATOR®

Landia DGR-1 air jet with this submersible chopping AirJet you get a simple and efficient aeration system. It can be your primary source of aeration in equalization basins, sludge holding tanks, or aerobic digesters. The AirJet can also be added for supplemental aeration in an activated sludge tank to manage peak organic loading, or as a replacement for worn-out rotors or surface aerators in oxidation ditches. The AirJet is ideal for heavily polluted wastewater and (since the system does not clog with solids) the AirJet provides a constantly high oxygen transfer efficiency – unlike most other types of aeration.

Inline Waste Grinder/Comminutor
